In the picturesque nature nearby Ochoz u Brna, Czech Republic, from the 21st to the 30th of June 2023, an inspiring gathering of 30 enthusiastic young minds from Czechia, Turkey, Spain, Italy, Poland, and Portugal unfolded. The occasion? The completion of the KA1 Erasmus+ Youth Exchange, aptly titled “Kicking the Pain Away – Gently.” The project aimed to address the pressing issue of mental wellbeing among young people in the wake of the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
At its core, the initiative set out to raise awareness about the significance of mental health among the youth, empowering them to navigate and contribute positively to the social challenges induced by the pandemic.
Objectives Achieved:
1. Promoting Mental Hygiene and Wellbeing:
The exchange successfully fostered an environment where participants engaged in open discussions, workshops, and activities centered around promoting mental hygiene and wellbeing in everyday life. Recognizing the importance of mental health as a cornerstone for personal growth, the project encouraged young people to prioritize their mental wellbeing.
2. Best Practices in Coping with Stress:
The exchange served as a melting pot of diverse experiences, with participants sharing and exchanging best practices for coping with stress. The global perspective brought by the participants from different countries enriched the discussions, offering unique insights and coping mechanisms to help navigate the challenges posed by the pandemic.
3. Creation of a Comprehensive Booklet:
A notable outcome of the project is the creation of a valuable resource – a booklet brimming with tools and recommendations tailored for young people. This booklet serves as a guide, offering practical insights on maintaining mental wellbeing during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. It encapsulates the collective wisdom and shared experiences of the participants, providing a tangible takeaway for future reference. You can freely download it here:
