We are very pleased to announce the launch of the KA2 Erasmus+ project “Gamify+: Enhancing Organizational Capacity through Hybrid Gaming”. The project has been co-funded by European Union.
In the last few years we have seen several unprecedented issues (covid-19 pandemics, war in Ukraine, high influx of
refugees,…) shaking our societies and the negative impact of these issues was largely amplified by a huge wave of
disinformation and media manipulation. And it is not about to stop in the foreseeable future. Disinformation and lack of
media literacy skills among the population causes harm by polarizing society, damaging trust in institutions, giving more
space to extremist groups and populist political parties which is in consequence undermining democratic processes as a
whole and steering the wheel of our democracies towards autocratic regimes.
That is why we want to exploit the potential of gamification and hybrid games as effective tools for fostering media literacy
education and engaging young people in this important topic.
The aim of the project is to enhance the capacities of organisations, educators and youth workers to use a game-based
approach to foster critical thinking and media literacy of young people, with the purpose of tackling manipulation,
propaganda, and disinformation.
Concrete results will be a set of 3 booklets (1 for each of the training courses) on the topics board game design, board
games and gamification in 3rd sector and gaming in the digital world with connection to non-formal education, but the main results is the educational hybrid game (physical board game with the use of mobile application) on the topic of media literacy which will be freely available for organisations and youth workers. Part of the hybrid game will also be a guide for youth workers and educators on how to properly implement and reflect on the game in groups of young people with different backgrounds and age groups in order for it to have the highest educational impact.
